The Emerging Deception

COMMENT: This is a very powerful description of the danger. the “Fanatic for Jesus” BlogSpot delivers a stern warning regarding a dangerous infiltration

"If they speak not according to this Word, it is because there is no truth in them."  Isaiah 8:20

There is danger afoot in the Evangelical church, and it is happening right under our noses. The Emergent/Emerging Church movement is heading towards a collision with the New Age movement. False doctrines, a different gospel and even doctrines of demons have been introduced into many churches through books, music, videos, teachers and movements, that all claim to be of God. Some say the "Emergent Church" is the next step beyond the "seeker movement." Leaders of the movement say they have answers for our generation, even though it focuses on experience much more than the Bible. But leaders of the movement insist that in our fast-changing culture, something is happening. What was once a Christian nation with a Judeo-Christian worldview is becoming a post-Christian, un-churched, un-reached nation.

Jan Markell of Olive Tree Ministries said in an article, “Defining the Emerging Church (EC) is a little bit like nailing Jell-O to the wall.” And she was right about that. The more websites I have looked at on the movement, the more confused I got about their beliefs. Jan says, “It relies heavily on mysticism, which is a great danger to believers of all denominations. Some leaders will tell you that you cannot know truth. An EC service will often meet in homes and will rely on extra-biblical paraphernalia, extra-sensory images, sounds, smells of candles and incense, silence, mystical meditation, making the sign of the cross, touching icons, statues of saints, rosary beads for Protestants, liturgy, yoga-like deep breathing, contemplative prayer and sacraments--all for a full sensory immersion with the divine. In other words, they are looking for an encounter with the Lord using all their senses. Worship is stressed, but some would say more than the Word.”

How can you recognize if this purpose-driven emergent global utopia?
Here are some of the characteristics:

  1. Sound biblical doctrine is considered as dangerous and divisive, and the experiential (i.e., mystical) is given a greater role than doctrine.
  2. Bible prophecy is no longer taught and is considered a waste of time.
  3. Israel becomes less and less important and has no biblical significance.
  4. Eventually the promises for Israel are applied to the Church and not Israel (Replacement Theology).
  5. Bible study is replaced by studying someone’s book and his methods.
  6. Church health is evaluated on the quantity of people who attend.
  7. The truth of God’s Word becomes less and less important.
  8.  God’s Word, especially concepts like hell, sin and repentance, is eventually downplayed so the unbeliever is not offended.

Jesuit Infiltration of the Evangelical Church

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

COMMENT: Came across this other article at the “Fanatic for Jesus” BlogSpot. Found it also to be detailed in historical research and rather revealing.

The Jesuit Order was created to combat and overthrow the Protestant Reformation. It was founded as a military order by Ignatius of Loyola in 1534, and still exists as a secret society today. Over the years, their ultimate mission has continued to be the return of separated brethren (Protestants) back to the Catholic fold.

Many Christians who have considered themselves as Evangelicals, have been waking up to learn that the Roman Catholic church has infiltrated the Evangelical church. The Evangelical/Protestant church is being drawn seductively into the Roman Catholic church, and Jesuit-trained infiltrators are determined to convert Protestants back to the Mother Church.

Modern Christianity has been sold a bill of goods concerning who the Roman Catholics are, so they have largely forgotten the importance of the Protestant Reformation of the 1500’s. Let's look at just a couple of examples of how this looks in the Church today.

Wikipedia describes Chuck Smith as the "senior pastor of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and the founder of the Calvary Chapel movement. Beginning with the 25-person Costa Mesa congregation in 1965, Smith's influence now extends to thousands of congregations worldwide, some of which are among the largest churches in the United States." You would assume that a man with this would have impact on the lives he touches in his congregation. Taking this into account, let's listen to the following video. Pastor Chuck explains to the caller that "Catholics are basically Christian too."

The Jesuit Agenda and the Evangelical/Protestant Church

Understand the Times/Lighthouse Trails Special Report

COMMENT: Here is another wide awake evangelical. The description of the activity is clear and accurate. There are indeed those in the Evangelical/Protestant Churches who see the danger.

According to Bible prophecy, a one-world religion that will offer the promise of peace throughout the world is going to commence prior to Christ’s return. To most, this global body will seem like a wonderful thing and very possibly will be a pseudo-Christianity (coming in the name of “Christ”); however, contrary to how the masses will view it, it will actually help establish and set up the antichrist and his one- world government.

In order for this to happen, all religions must come together in an ecumenical plan. Today, as part of this Satanic scheme, the evangelical/Protestant church is being drawn seductively into the Roman Catholic church, largely through what we call “The Jesuit Agenda.” Incredibly, while the evidence is obvious to some, the majority of proclaiming Christians are not at all aware it is happening.

So, what should we expect if we are in the time when such a system unfolds? First, many who once were Protestant and evangelical will become ecumenical and eventually assimilate with the Roman Catholic church. Second, all religions will unite in solidarity of purpose. Understanding the Jesuit Agenda is essential if we are to understand how this worldwide deception will come about.

Who are the Jesuits?

Since its foundation, the Catholic papacy has been zealous and often brutal in its endeavor to establish the kingdom of the Pope (of whom it is believed within the Catholic church is headed by Jesus Christ). In fact, the Pope has been referred to as the “Vicar of Christ.” This determination was witnessed during the Inquisition where countless thousands, if not millions, died cruelly for resisting Rome. Foxe’s Book of Martyrs describes many of these atrocities.

While many believers in Christ during the Reformation period attempted to spread the truth that God’s Word was truly God’s Word and could not be squandered and kept hostage by the papacy and the Catholic Church, it was not long before the Counter Reformation was founded to bring the “Separated Brethren” back to the “Mother of All Churches.”

Pentecostalism

Author: Professor Walter J. Veith, PhD
Publish date: Sep 2, 2009

COMMENT: The above articles reveal that the views expressed by Professor Walter J. Veith are not denominationally prejudicial, but rather factual.

Ever since the Reformation, the Roman Catholic Church has been at work to woo back the Protestant Churches and regain its position as the spiritual authority. Most people, wary of Rome and its ways, embraced their new Protestant freedom with open arms.

Although suspicion of Rome still ran high prior to 1960, as the years passed, many began to believe that Rome’s influence and power had been broken. Christian author and evangelist Grattan Guinness describes this waning suspicion in the opening chapter of his book Romanism and the Reformation .

We have seen how Rome began its Counter Reformation with the introduction of false doctrines to counter the reformers' straight testimony of the identity of the Antichrist. Preterism, futurism, German rationalism, and higher criticism were all introduced through Catholic or Jesuit theologians. Slowly these beliefs began to infiltrate the Protestant churches and to poison the faith of Christians.

While Protestants remained vigilant about Catholicism in America, even resisting the Pope’s visit to America during Ronald Reagan’s term of office as President, they were not as vigilant to the quiet infiltration of false doctrine into their ranks.
