PHILADELPHIA (WTXF)-A religious book is showing up in mailboxes across Philadelphia and most residents are finding it pretty mysterious. The book is called ‘The Great Controversy.’ Most people who've gotten it say they have no idea why it was sent to them.
"I thought it was kind of odd actually to get a book in your mail," said George Jackels. He's one of many people on his block in South Philly who received a book by surprise in the mail.
"Most of the guys I know threw it in the trash but I figured I'd give it a shot," joked Jackel.
The book is called "The Great Controversy".

Catechism of the Catholic Church
(Reveals their change of the Sabbath)
II. THE LORD'S DAY
This is the day which the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.103
The day of the Resurrection: the new creation
2174 Jesus rose from the dead "on the first day of the week."104 Because it is the "first day," the day of Christ's Resurrection recalls the first creation. Because it is the "eighth day" following the sabbath,105 it symbolizes the new creation ushered in by Christ's Resurrection. For Christians it has become the first of all days, the first of all feasts, the Lord's Day (he kuriake hemera, dies dominica) Sunday:
We all gather on the day of the sun, for it is the first day [after the Jewish sabbath, but also the first day] when God, separating matter from darkness, made the world; and on this same day Jesus Christ our Savior rose from the dead.106
Sunday - fulfillment of the Sabbath
2175 Sunday is expressly distinguished from the sabbath which it follows chronologically every week; for Christians its ceremonial observance replaces that of the sabbath. In Christ's Passover, Sunday fulfills the spiritual truth of the Jewish sabbath and announces man's eternal rest in God. For worship under the Law prepared for the mystery of Christ, and what was done there prefigured some aspects of Christ:107

Falling oil price tilts political, economic balance in U.S. favor
Business News |
LONDON/KUWAIT | By David Sheppard and Rania El Gamal
The drop in oil prices to their lowest in two years has caught many observers off guard, coming against a backdrop of the worst violence in Iraq this decade, heightened tensions between the West and Russia, and sanctions against Iran.
But as rising supplies of North American crude and tepid demand have pushed prices LCOc1 below $100 a barrel, the move underlies how the shale oil revolution is creating a political and economic advantage for Washington and its Western allies.
Russia and Iran are heavily reliant on oil sales and face budget shortages at current price levels, analysts say, weakening their position when negotiating over Ukrainian sovereignty or the Iranian nuclear deal.

Vladimir Putin seeks to dump the dollar in regional trade
David R. Sands - The Washington Times - Tuesday, September 1, 2015
Russian President Vladimir Putin has a new target in the revived cold war with Washington — the U.S. dollar.
The website Russia Today* reported Tuesday that Mr. Putin has drafted a bill to block the use of both the American greenback and the euro in trade between the bloc of countries that used to be part of the Soviet Union, including Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
The move could also prove a boost to the battered Russian ruble, which has fallen sharply in the face of Western economic sanctions over Moscow’s policies in Ukraine and over a sharp recent slide in global oil prices, Russia’s chief export money-maker.
Mr. Putin has been seeking new economic partners as trade with the West has been sharply curtailed in recent months. Russia and China have signed a major energy cooperation pact and both Beijing and Moscow have made moves to challenge the longtime dominance of the U.S. dollar as the world’s reserve currency.

China's central bank has put the Russian ruble into circulation in Suifenhe City, Heilongjiang Province, launching a pilot two-currency (ruble and yuan) program. The ruble is being introduced in place of the US dollar.
In 2014, the Russian Central Bank and the People’s Bank of China drew up a three-year currency swap agreement, worth 150 billion yuan (around $24.5 billion), securing financial cooperation between the nations in the light of tense relations with the US and EU over the Ukraine crisis.
