Rebuilding the Inquisition

According to his biography on the ALTERNET website, Neal Gabler is an author of five books and the recipient of two LA Times Book Prizes, Time magazine’s non-fiction book of the year, USA Today's biography of the year and other awards. He is also a senior fellow at The Norman Lear Center at the University of Southern California, and is currently writing a biography of Sen. Edward Kennedy.

On April 1, 2017, Neal Gabler published an article on the ALTERNET website entitled “America Is Barreling Toward Political Anarchy, Not an Organized Fascist State.” In that article, Gabler describes a change in assessment he makes regarding the new Presidential administration. Listen to how he opens the article.

“So many of us were wrong, myself included, about Donald Trump. We saw in the jut-jawed, brow-furrowed Mussolini-like posturing, in the blatant narcissism, in the reckless disregard for truth, the anger and incitement to hatred, the declamations that he would fix everything single-handedly on Day One of his presidency, his disdain for democracy and hints that he would lock up his opponents — we saw in all of these things incipient fascism.  After the inauguration, I began reading Victor Klemperer’s chilling diaries on the rise of Nazism, and Sebastian Haffner’s memoir of the early days of Hitler, Defying Hitler. The analogies were all too close. Others on these pages have made similar observations. We were on the verge of something unprecedented, something horrifying. We were on the verge of authoritarian government headed by an ignoramus and possible psychopath. We were on the verge of the end of democracy.” Neal Gabler, America Is Barreling Toward Political Anarchy, Not an Organized Fascist State,” ALTERNET, April 1, 2017

But as he says in the continued article, fascism demands a certain amount of cooperation and organization. His “discovery” is revealed in his very next paragraph.

“And then, last Friday, with the demise of the Republican attempt to repeal Obamacare and replace it with… well, with a massive tax giveaway to the rich, we discovered — I discovered — that I was fearing the wrong thing. It’s not Trump’s ability to marshal the forces of repression that should terrify us. It’s his inability to marshal forces to conduct even the most basic governance. Trump really is a presidential Joker. He knows how to wreak havoc, but he doesn’t seem to know how to do, or seem to want to do, much else.” Neal Gabler, America Is Barreling Toward Political Anarchy, Not an Organized Fascist State,” ALTERNET, April 1, 2017

It is very easy to see how one would be confused by the apparent lack of organization that appears to emanate from this administration. The fact of the matter is that the power that guides them is quite organized.  The real objective is the deconstruction of the constitutional system which was the original structure of the United States. Not even the President is aware of the total manipulation of the present situation. What he probably considers the genius of his promise to the Evangelicals regarding the removal of the wall that separates Church and State, in the open door to the establishment of a Theocratic form of government which has long been the goal of those who desire to see the United States and for that matter the entire world governed by Old Testament Law. The more confused the governing appears to be, therefore, the less likely will the real covert agenda be exposed. What Neal Gabler sees as Political Anarchy, is really the path to Theocracy. Jordie Gerson in the February 3, 2017 article entitledDestroying the Johnson Amendment Moves America Closer to Theocracy” on the FORWARD website reveals a more accurate vision of where this administration is leading. According to the biography found on the FORWARD website, Jordie Gerson is a former Hillel campus rabbi who has worked at the Hillels of Yale University and the University of Vermont. This is how his article puts it.

“President Donald Trump and Mike Pence intend to demolish the entire crumbling wall between church and state. The President just declared that he will “destroy” the 60-year-old Johnson Amendment, passed by the U.S. Congress in 1954, which gives organizations including synagogues and churches, tax-exempt status but prohibits such religious institutions to “participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of – or in opposition to – any candidate for public office.” Jordie Gerson, Destroying the Johnson Amendment Moves America Closer to Theocracy” the FORWARD, February 3, 2017

The original enemy of the Constitution of the United States is the enemy from which the Pilgrims originally abandoned their homes, and came to this land to set up a nation without a king and a church without a pope. That same enemy remains today, committed to the destruction of the Constitutional Structure of the United States. But the enemy will never be successful from without; Abraham Lincoln describes how this nation will be taken.

“At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic military giant, to step the Ocean, and crush us at a blow? Never! All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth in their military chest; with a Bonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point, then, is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reaches us it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad.” — Abraham Lincoln, Address Before the Young Men’s Lyceum, of Springfield, Illinois, January 27, 1838.

Charles Chiniquy in his book, Fifty Years in the Church of Rome describes the goal of the Papacy.

“We are determined . . . to take possession of the United States, and rule them; but we cannot do that without acting secretly and with utmost wisdom. If our plans become known, they will surely be defeated.” — Charles Chiniquy, Fifty Years in the Church of Rome, p. 373.
