The Torture of Evil

Evil has its own torture. The countenance of the devil if ever he smiles, does not smile with joy. The smile of hate pervades his every action, revealing the inner torture of his soul. The celebration of those engaged in wrong, regardless of how animated it might appear, is soaked in sorrow. Its foundation is hate, its motivation is destruction. Even when engaged in partying and revelry, the demolition works within. The choices are caustic and suicidal, ensuring a horrible conclusion to supposedly engaging activity.
Evil sees no satisfaction in the pursuit of the good. Healthy choices are abandoned as unsophisticated. Morality is discarded as childishness. Truth is interpreted as stupidity. The means to any end are always embraced, regardless of the horror they produce. Simple joy is considered primitive. Love is twisted, deformed and selfish. Violence is seen as self asserting. A peaceful persona is perceived as weakness, and deception is considered to be productive influence. Justice is purchased, compassion is labeled political correctness, and kindness no longer survives the expectation of an act in return.
This is the present condition: A swirling mass of uninformed hopelessness. A giddy trip of thinking we have grown beyond the wisdom of the past. Technology now does what we no longer do, or for that matter, can do. So with each passing day, silenced brains surrender to the fall.
If those who seek to lead are similarly distorted, the hope of a nation ensures catastrophe. The disappearance of trust darkens the chambers of those who think they are the ones who will survive the awful tragedy. Without a single sliver of understanding of the cause, they blunder on in sweet oblivion to the precipice. The crash will come, but only after they succeed in draining from themselves and their children the last few dregs of conscience.
What is that conscience? It is the guiding principle of life. That, which is downloaded into the heart, becomes the expression of the soul. The voice that speaks to the conscience directs the decision making. But when that voice is silenced, the conscience is drained. Direction is lost, and objectivity abandoned. That voice, that provides the guiding principle, belongs to the Third Person of the Godhead, The Holy Spirit, which speaks to mind and body. The liberty of that conscience is the freedom of the will, the gift of God. To coerce, or intimidate the choices of man is the act of the father of lies. It has been in times past, and will be again. Be ready. Be very ready.
